How can I get a library card?
A parent must accompany you
with proof of address, such as a driver's license.
What happens if I lose my card?
You can get another card
with a parent with proof of address for a fee of $2.00.
How long can I keep a book or video?
Books, books on
cassette and books on CD may be checked out for four weeks. Magazines,
CD's, CD-ROM's and cassettes may be checked out for two weeks. Videos and
DVD's may be checked out for one week.
What are the fines for late returns?
The fine for books,
books on cassette, books on CD, magazines, CD's, CD-ROM's, and cassettes is 10
cents per day. The fine for video's and DVD's is $2.00 per day.
What do I do if the library does not have the book I want?
Ask
at the circulation desk and the book can be reserved for you or ordered for
you from another library.
Can I use my card at other libraries?
Yes, you can use
your card at any public library in Connecticut.
Can I return my books at other libraries?
Yes, you can
return your books at any public library in Connecticut, however, videos, DVD's, CD's,
CD-ROM's, cassettes, books on cassette and CD must be returned to the North
Haven Library.
Can I use a computer at the library?
Yes, you may sign up
at the circulation desk to use a computer for 45 minutes. Computer time
cannot be reserved ahead of time.
