About Us

The children's department is located at the lower level of the library and contains more than 40,000 items, which include books and audio/visual materials. Search our database for information on your school  projects or find a book by your favorite author.  We have paperback and hardcover fiction, large print fiction, non-fiction and picture books.  Our large collection of non-print materials includes, non-fiction and movie video tapes, DVD's, music CD's, music cassette tapes, stories on tape, books on tape and CD, and books with tapes.  We also have a large collection of phonics books with tapes and foreign language instructional books and tapes.  

Seven computers are available with games and filtered internet use.  We also have a chess/checker table, a sand table, a train table, legos, pre-school puzzles and a puppet theater.  

Our picture books are categorized by subject, such as art, dinosaurs, friends,  math concepts and much more.  Our parent and teacher resource center has books and videos on many subjects including, health and nutrition, rainy day activities, and baby names.  One section of our parent and teacher resource center has picture books to help children in difficulties they may be having such as, divorcing parents, step-parents, siblings, starting school, and illness.   

Plus, we have many programs for children of all ages such as, Baby Bounce, Toddler Time, Friday Fun, Story Time, the Young Adult Volunteens, book discussions, summer reading club, guest performers and more.
