North Branford Women's Club Storytimes: Besides reading stories and doing a craft, there will be songs (and sometimes a treasure hunt) as well as refreshments.

Time for Baby and Me: For infants, birth to 18 mos. with parent/caregiver
In cooperation with the North Branford Family Resource Center, it is a time to share stories, nursery rhymes, songs and ideas about parenting issues.
Wednesdays @ 10:00 a.m. - begins Jan. 6, 2010
Join us anytime--no registration required
SPECIAL: Mar. 24 & 31: Music with Margie for Baby & Me! One half hour of music and movement for babies, birth - 18 mos.

Toddler Time with Donna: For children 18 mo. & up.
A playful, 30-minute session of music and movement, fingerplays, songs and stories.
Please register separately for Mondays or Thursdays
Sessions begin:
Monday session begins Jan 25 @ 10:30 (no session on Jan. 18 - it's a holiday)
Thursday session begins Jan. 21 @ 10:30

Story Time with Debbie: For children 2 1/2 years and up (kindergarteners welcome!) with stories, flannel board, fingerplays and a craft. Each day is a separate class. Register for each class.
Sessions begin:
Tuesday, Jan. 12th @ 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 13 @ 6:30 p.m.
Thursday, Jan. 14 @ 1:30 p.m.

We offer special on-site storytimes for daycare and preschool as permitted by our schedules. Contact any children's librarian for more information.

Pop-In Playtime:
Begins Thursday, Jan. 12 @ 4:00 p.m.

The library is a cozy place to meet friends in the winter. Take time to play and then check out some new books to take home. Snuggle up with your child and read during these chilly months of winter!

Spin-a-Yarn: Wednesdays @ 4:00 p.m.
Knitting/Crocheting -
All ages welcome. Calling all those interested in knitting or crocheting. Bring yarn & needles and share ideas for a project. Beginners welcome.

Poetry Contest: Grades 1 - 6

The Education Committee of the North Branford Women's Club, GFWC/CT, is sponsoring a poetry contest for children in grades 1 - 6.
The three categories are:

1. Grades 1 & 2
2. Grades 3 & 4
3. Grades 5 & 6

Rules:

1. Must be original work of the child
2. Should be neatly printed or typed
3. Poem should have a minimum of 8 lines and a maximum of 30 lines.
4. Name, grade, school, age and telephone number must appear on the back side of the entrant's paper
5. The completed work should be dropped of in the children's department at the Smith Library.
6. Prizes will be awarded at the discretion of the judges
7. Deadline for entry is April 30, 2010
